Hello World!

1963 MGB Roadster

Hello everyone – Skip and I hope you are safe and healthy! Like you, we felt we were just coming out of the fog from a COVID-19 world, – ready to travel and explore again!  We spent the spring and early summer planning once again and readying ourselves for adventures. But unfortunately, we are once again “welcoming” some setbacks with a new Delta Variant, forest fires and a changing world. Scary! Sometimes if feels like it would be better to crawl into a cave – we understand! But Skip and I, like you, are trying to adapt to this rapidly … Read more

Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

Yellow Tulips, Skagit Valley, Washington, USA

The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is a great place to visit as the weather turns warmer.  Located in LaConner, Washington, USA – there are thousands of flowers bursting with color this time of year.  Officially, the festival starts April 1st each year.  The tulips are just about to bloom!  Below is a photo I took previously when we visited the farms.  Isn’t this a beautiful landscape of color!?!?!

Enjoying Fall Colors

Fall Colors - Renton, Washington USA

We decided to get out and about and went to one of our favorite local parks – Gene Coulon Memorial Park.  The colors are bright and beautiful!  I captured this great shot while Skip watched my back from oncoming (distracted) traffic.  Aren’t these colors amazing!?!?

Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Oregon, USA

Have you been traveling this year? Like us, you’ve probably put traveling on hold due to the pandemic, and of course many destinations are still closed. So while we are all “on-hold”, Skip and I thought we would share photographs from some of the great places we previously visited.  If you see a travel destination you are interested in – please make a note so you can visit in the future! Green Sunbather, Hawaii, USA

With all that is occurring right now in the world, Skip and I have decided to pause our long distance travel.  We will still share some local and past events with you over time. This will give me time to rebuild the website – I know you will enjoy new ideas we have planned!  But in the meantime, we just wanted to say stay safe and healthy, and take time to be kind to others during this stressful time.  Thank you for all your support in following our adventures!

Kealakekua Bay, Hawaii, USA

Kealakekua Bay, Hawaii, USA

We are back from traveling and I can’t wait to share more photographs! We visited the Island of Hawaii – a beautiful island!! At Kaupulehu Ahupua’a, Kealakekua Bay,  (along the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Kailua-Kona) – there is a beautiful easy walking public path that winds around the resort. The segment of the trail is also identified as a traditional route for the huaka’i po, a nighttime procession of the spirits of deceased residents of the area. You can walk for miles and see spectacular sights! I captured this great view at the beginning of the trail – isn’t … Read more

St. Joseph Church, Maui, USA

St. Joseph Church, Maui, USA

While traveling the backside of Haleakela (Maui, Hawaii, USA) on the Road to Hana (between mile markers 33 and 34), we unexpectantly discovered St. Joseph Church that was established in 1862! Located adjacent to the church are ruins of the Rectory as well as the cistern. In researching this church, we discovered that it continues to serve – the 150th Anniversary Mass and Celebration was in 2012. Another interesting fact is Charles Lindberg’s grave is adjacent to this church.   If you are in the area on the Road to Hana – it is definitely worth a stop to check … Read more

Port Townsend Aero Museum, Washington, USA

Port Townsend Aero Museum, Washington, USA

One of our favorite destinations in Port Townsend, Washington, USA is the Port Townsend Aero Museum. This is a fantastic collection of antique and classic aircraft. But in addition to showcasing these amazing aircraft specimens, this museum has an incredible Youth Program that provides training and education to young adults. Can you imagine flying these – aren’t these amazing aircraft!!?!?
