This year, spring has been unusually cool and wet for us in Western Washington. We love the rain (most of the time anyways), but my normal flower planting is still somewhat on hold. A good side of all this rain, is it has been an exceptional year for our Rhododendron. I took a close-up one morning and captured one of the “Rhodie” flowers. Isn’t this flower absolutely beautiful?!?!?
Today’s headline said it is just 30 days until spring – I can’t wait! Still a bit cool here in the Pacific Northwest – so I thought I would share a close-up of a beautiful Valentine Rose in a bouquet that Skip gave me. Isn’t this a vibrant and beautiful color!?!?!!
The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is a great place to visit as the weather turns warmer. Located in LaConner, Washington, USA – there are thousands of flowers bursting with color this time of year. Officially, the festival starts April 1st each year. The tulips are just about to bloom! Below is a photo I took previously when we visited the farms. Isn’t this a beautiful landscape of color!?!?!
With all that is occurring right now in the world, Skip and I have decided to pause our long distance travel. We will still share some local and past events with you over time. This will give me time to rebuild the website – I know you will enjoy new ideas we have planned! But in the meantime, we just wanted to say stay safe and healthy, and take time to be kind to others during this stressful time. Thank you for all your support in following our adventures!
In the Pacific Northwest (Washington, USA), the days are getting darker much earlier, and we are in our typical rainy, cloudy, cooler November. So to bring a bit of happiness and brightness to the clouds, here is a beautiful red Amaryllis I captured. Isn’t this an incredible color!?!?!?
I couldn’t resist sharing one more amazing flower close-up I captured from the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden, in Washington, USA. This beauty was barely visible when walking on the path and was almost hidden deep under brush. Isn’t this a magnificent flower!?!?!

I just love springtime! The weather here in Washington has been exceptional this year. Here is a beautiful close-up I captured recently of a Crocus hidden in our rockery. This little flower just makes me smile. Isn’t this a magnificent color!?!?!?
