Tulip Surprise, Washington, USA

Tulip Surprise, Washington, USA

Although the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is winding down, I couldn’t resist sharing one more photo of the beautiful tulips I captured earlier this month. My sweet husband spotted this single “loner” red tulip hiding in the millions of yellow tulips. He is very observant as this shot was almost fifty feet away from us! Aren’t these tulips incredibly beautiful?!?!?

Grape Hyacinths, Washington, USA

Grape Hyacinths, Washington

These beautiful tiny flowers are called Grape Hyacinths and return every year in our rockery. They have a light fragrance and are one of the first bulb flowers to poke out each spring. In between rainstorms, I captured this great close-up – just a few inches away – but luckily it is still too early to worry about bees! Isn’t the color incredible!?!?!?!

Mt Rainier, Washington, USA

Mt Rainier, Washington, USA

Mowich Lake is a lake located in the northwestern corner of Mount Rainier National Park in Washington State at an elevation of 4,929 feet. Although the main road to the lake was closed for the season, my husband persevered dodging huge potholes in our truck off-road. And we were rewarded with this amazing area to view Mt. Rainier and have a picnic! Isn’t this view absolutely breathtaking?!?!?!?!?!

I am absolutely petrified of spiders, but in honor of Halloween, I thought I would share this shot I captured of a creepy spider. Thank goodness I had a long lens so I did not have to get too close! Doesn’t this picture almost make your skin crawl?!?!?!

Monte Carlo Casino, Monaco

Monte Carlo Casino, Monaco

The Monte Carlo Casino, officially named “Casino de Monte-Carlo” is located in Monaco and first opened in 1863. And if you are a James Bond fan, you will remember seeing him making his grand entrance in several different movies! During our quick visit here, I was very lucky and made $10 on a slot machine!! Isn’t this an incredible architecture!?!?!?!
